I am pleased to let you know that a new guidance document on wetlands has been published by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government:
"Integrated Constructed Wetlands
Guidance Document for Farmyard Soiled Water and Domestic Wastewater Applications."
Integrated Constructed Wetlands play an important role in achieving Water Framework Directive goals by 2015 and beyond; they also promote conservation, increase biodiversity and have the potential to deliver on flood attenuation, amenity and leisure.
The document provides comprehensive guidance for the assessment, design and construction of ICW systems and the steps outlined range from assessing suitability & development procedure of an ICW, design, installation, results and the monitoring process.
For all of the above reasons and more I would encourage you to read the document. It has been published in soft copy only and is available for download here.
