Nominations Sought for 2 Community Reps to WCDP Board



 

The West Cork Development Partnership provides a wide range of community and enterprise development supports throughout the West Cork region including the LEADER programme, the Local and Community Development Programme, the Rural Social Scheme, the Warmer Homes Scheme, TÚS and the Walks scheme. The vision statement for the West Cork Development Partnership envisages and plans for the development of the West Cork region as:

"A progressive and vibrant rural region of inclusive and engaged communities, where guided by the principle of sustainability, its social, cultural, natural and economic assets are harnessed to achieve an improved quality of life for all".
 

Nominations are now sought from suitable local community organisations for the following vacancies on the board:

1. General community organisations active in the Lee Valley area (Bandon & Macroom Electoral areas only),
2.
Social inclusion organisations throughout the West Cork region (Bandon, Macroom, Bantry and Skibbereen electoral areas).

Nominee must represent a community organisation affiliated to the Community and Voluntary forum of the Cork County Development Board.

  • Nominee must be nominated by a community organisation affiliated to the Community and Voluntary forum of the Cork County Development Board as of Friday April 15th 2011.
  • Nominating bodies should be properly constituted and have active officers and membership.
  • Nominating bodies should comply with all current equality legislation.
  • Written nominations must be received by Ian Dempsey, CEO, West Cork Development Partnership by close of business on Thursday April 21st 2011.
