CELT Training courses 2011


CELT are running 2 courses end of this month which are an introduction to Agroforestry which is about integrating trees into gardens or farms (but not as separate plantation areas) so that there are benefits to both trees and crops (or grazing animals, poultry, geese) providing added value to the production from the land.  Course tutors are Saul Mosbacher - 'Trees for Food' (CELT tree nursery manager) and Sandro Cafolla - 'Introduction to Agroforestry Design' (permaculture specialist and owner / manager of 'Design by Nature').  The courses are subsidised and are therefore only 25 euro and 30 euro per day (20 euro concessions).
 
Weekend in the Woods 30 April & 1 May - choose from 15 introductory  training courses in traditional crafts & skills including Blacksmithing, Natural Building, Herblore, Dry Stone Walling, Sugan Chair making, Longbow-making, Rustic Furniture making, Wet Felting, Wood Carving, Basketry, Dry-Stone Walling, Spinning & Weaving, Silversmithing, Coppersmithing,
Introduction to Boat Building, - and (for 8 - 14 yrs) Rustic Art / Felting & Simple Woodcrafts. 

Also : Traditional Lake Boat Building (6 weekends May - June ); Plant Magic (Managing a small-holding with emphasis on biodiversity) (8 days April - Sept);  Artist Blacksmithing (8 days);  

Intermediate Level Courses 2nd & 3rd July in Natural Building, Nuno Felting, 3D Felt Making, Spinning & Weaving & Woodcarving
