Playing for Change film screening followed by live music session...TONIGHT!!

Film Screening & Music Night -  Playing For Change

Thursday 4 November, 7.00pm at West Cork Arts Centre and Working Artist Studio
This promises to be an inspiring evening commencing with the
screening of a documentary film at West Cork Arts Centre featuring over
100 known and unknown musicians from around the world. Directors Mark
Johnson and Jonathan Walls travelled for 4 years with a small crew
through the Himalayan Mountains, African villages, Native American
reservations, and the streets of Europe and the USA.
"Playing For Change was born out of the idea that we have to
inspire each other, to come together as a human race, and that music is
the best way to do this," says Johnson.
The film is 83 minutes long and won the Audience Award in 2008 at
the Woodstock Film Festival. It has sparked a multi-media peace
movement that spans across the globe, as music continues to break down
boundaries and unite people from all walks of life. The screening will be followed by a little post film
discussion and a live music session a few doors down from the Arts
Centre at Working Artist Studios. Drinks will be available post film
screening. Recommended donation for the evening ¤ 5 - 10

This is a joint fundraising initiative for the New Building for the Arts in West Cork and Playing for Change Foundation
