FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

 

Visualising the Earth: From the Sea-bed to the Cloud-tops

 

Joint conference of the UK RSPSoc and IEOS to be held in Cork from September 1st to 3rd 2010.

 

The Local Organising Committee would like to invite you to submit a paper to, and attend the joint UK Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc) / IEOS conference to be held in Cork in September this year. This represents the largest gathering of experts in Earth Observation, Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry ever to be held in Ireland, with approximately 300 international delegates expected. Additionally there will be an exhibition of international representatives from the EO/RS industry demonstrating their latest products and services; there will also be a programme of rolling tutorials in ERDAS Imagine and ENVI.

 

The conference, entitled 'Visualising the Earth: From the Sea-bed to the Cloud-tops' will commence on Tuesday August 31st with an afternoon of workshops and social activities, followed by the official opening reception in the Aula Maxima at UCC. The following three days will comprise parallel oral sessions to be held at UCC, with a day of marine and coastal presentations and demonstrations at the National Maritime College of Ireland; a poster session with wine reception; a social event at the Glucksman Art Gallery on the UCC campus; the conference dinner and ceili at the Clarion Hotel in Cork City Centre; as well as the exhibition and software tutorials.

 

Please consider submitting an abstract for an oral or poster presentation on one of the thematic areas listed in the attached call for papers. Text only abstracts of up to 300 words may be submitted through the online portal at the website from 8th March 2010, with abstracts due by 2nd April 2010. Further information is available on the website www.rspsoc2010.org.
