Blackpool City Farm and Family Fun Day

Blackpool City Farm and Family Fun Day – Sunday, 28th March 2010 (2pm-5pm)

 

Cork City Council is inviting the public to experience a rural farmyard in an urban setting as part of the 7th Cork Lifelong Learning Festival.

Things to do and see at the farm:

  • see and pet a wide variety of farm animals

  • attend an indoor workshop 2.30pm-4.30pm facilitated by the Graffiti Theatre Company and have fun making paper chickens. Places are limited to 10 children (4-8 year olds) per workshop - children must be accompanied by an adult

  • view the vintage tractors

  • stroll through the allotments and pick up tips from a horticulturist

  • sample the delights on offer from the farmers market

  • relax for a coffee at the seasonal greenhouse café and view the hand crafted garden furniture on sale

  • free face painting and balloon modeller

  • play in the safe toddler play park

  • enjoy the music by Mayfield Brass Band

  • for the more intrigued – tour the converted convent and learn about its present use

The event takes place on Sunday, 28th March 2010 (2pm-5pm) at the Cork Foyer Complex (site of 'Corrigan's City Farm'), Assumption Road, Blackpool - adjacent to the offices of the Revenue Commissioner.

This event is part of the 7th Cork Lifelong Learning Festival, taking place across the city from Monday, 22nd March to Sunday 28th March.

The Festival is organised by a steering committee drawn from the Cork City Learning Forum, set up by the Cork City Development Board, and its main sponsors are Cork City Council, City of Cork VEC & FETAC (Further Education & Training Awards Council).

During Festival week there are events for all ages – and all of them are free!
