Since 2002, the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) has run an annual Call for Postdoctoral Fellowships, awarding fellowships to talented early-stage researchers from all over the world (http://www.ircset.ie/tabid/64/default.aspx). These prestigious EMPOWER fellowships are targeted at high-calibre early-career researchers (no more than 3 years post PhD), and the competition is open to any researcher worldwide who meets this criterion.
The next call is due to open on the 26th of October 2011, and we wish to attract a significant number of applications from suitably-qualified candidates. We would like to ask your help in ensuring that the best and brightest early-career researchers in your community are aware of this opportunity, by forwarding this email to the members of the Environmental Sciences Association of Ireland. We are particularly interested in soliciting applications from talented female researchers, who, although always under-represented in the number of applications received during our postdoctoral calls, consistently outperform the male applicants in terms of success rate. Approximately 20 of these highly sought-after fellowships will be awarded via this year's Call.
