Fehily Timoney & Company currently have an opening for a Senior Ecologist in our Cork office. This is a contract role and requires the following attributes from the ideal candidate;
Key Responsibilities:
• Senior Ecologist (birds specialist preferable) within Ecology Team, responsible for managing resources, budgets and dealing with clients,
• Field surveys e.g. conducting baseline ecological assessments, habitat surveys, bird surveys etc.
• Data handling and technical report writing and use of standard software packages such as Microsoft Office,
• A comprehensive knowledge of the relevant environmental legislation and use of the main desktop sources of ecological data,
Skills / Qualifications / Capabilities:
• Holds an Honours degree in Ecology, Zoology, Botany or equivalent qualification.
• Ideally has some professional experience in an ecological consultancy.
• Specialist birds knowledge -field and/or technical skills key to role.
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills required.
• Key requirements include efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative.
• Full clean Drivers Licence.
• Travel and overnight work is a requirement of the job.
