This Weekend in Dublin

Business Forum

Saturday, 10am-4pm. Don't miss Day 2 of Working the Green Economy – a showcase of green businesses with guest speakers (Glenisk, Home Organics, GoCar) and workshops, and stalls that include Murphy's ice cream, Glenisk yoghurt (free) and delightful coffee. This is a great networking opportunity not to be missed by anyone with an interest in the green economy. This event is free and open to all. Full detail here.

If you are an urban gardener there are two great events for you: Community Garden & Allotments Cycle (Saturday, 11am) and the Community Garden Forum (Sunday, 12.30pm).

Totally Tipperary
  • Sligo: Monday, 9.45am – 4pm, Green Jobs & Sustainability. Join TV's Duncan Stewart and John Perry TD for a day of activities focussed on how the green economy can sustain jobs and help North West communities become more resilient. Free, all welcome.
  • Cork: Friday, 10am-1pm, Cork Showcase presents highlights of the Green Works programme presented by staff and students. Features workshops, case studies and a fashion show. Tuesday – Friday, all day, Vital Viewing will be screening a series of documentary films including Economics of Happiness and The Age of Stupid. Free, all welcome.
  • Tipperary: Wednesday is a busy day in Tipp with Green Jobs in Rural Ireland (11am) and Catching The Green Wave (1.30pm). That evening a special screening of One Hundred Mornings (7.30pm) will take place in Nenagh Town Hall Theatre followed by a discussion with director Conor Hogan, Professor Peadar Kirby (UL) and Vinay Gupta (resilience consultant). Don't miss the end of Convergence party - Totally Tipperary on Saturday 25 June!
  • Kilkenny: Solar Solstice, Tuesday 7pm. On the evening of the summer solstice, Glas Learning hosts an evening of exploration into the potential of solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies.
  • Dublin: Rethinking The City, Thursday 4-6pm, is an afternoon session hosted by the Irish Green Building Council looking at a range of city planning approaches that will nurture sustainable communities.
