At the beginning of June 2010, Inch residents received a visit from Kinsale Energy outlining developments they have planned for Inch Gas Terminal. It is proposed to use the depleted gas fields to store gas for the peak winter season. To achieve this they propose to develop a gas injection and processing terminal on a site of up to 22 acres as well as a new pipeline running from the terminal through the beach at Inch strand, to the gas field. Inch Residents Group has been set up to represent the concerns of people whose home and work life are directly affected by this development.
